Qiaomin Xie is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) and the Department of Computer Sciences (affiliate) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was previously a visiting assistant professor at School of Operations Research and Information Engineering (ORIE) at Cornell University. Prior to that, she was a postdoctoral researcher with LIDS at MIT, and a research fellow at the Simons Institute. Qiaomin received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computing Engineering from University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, and her B.E. degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University.

Her research interests lie in the fields of reinforcement learning, game theory, applied probability and stochastic networks, with applications to computer and communication networks. She is a recipent of National Science Foundation CAREER Award (2024), JP Morgan Faculty Research Award (2021), Google Systems Research Award (2020), UIUC CSL PhD Thesis Award (2017), and the best paper award from IFIP Performance Conference (2011). She is named a Notable Woman in Reinforcement Learning (2024).
